The Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil has been seeking to make a difference in Cidade de Deus since 1991. The Parish Church of Christ the King was built in the heart of Cidade de Deus, in partnership with our church in the United States and Canada.
Our church embraces the broad tradition of Anglicanism, alternating traditional and contemporary worship in our liturgy.
Our parish priest, since december 2006, is the Rev. Eduardo Costa. Besides holding a B. Sc. in Theology, Fr. Eduardo has studied History. He was ordained a transitional deacon in 12/12/2004 and a priest in 11/12/2005. Before that, he was a lay minister at the Good Samaritan Community and rector of the Most Holy Trinity Parish - function that he still holds, together with this parish, until today.
Our social project administrator is Fabiano Nunes, lay minister at the Most Holy Trinity Parish and a benedictine oblate. Fabiano holds the Basic Course of Theology offered by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and is preparing himself for being a permanent deacon. |
